Be sure to try. From Neustadt a.d.W Hbf (track 5) to Elmstein in a historic train with steam locomotive. Outward journey costs 8 euros and takes about 80 minutes. In the train there is also a dining compartment with fair prices.

Only runs on weekends. Check out Kuckucksbaehnel.de beforehand! The hike through the Speyerbachtal to Lambrecht is nice, you may be able to see the train again on the way. Tomorrow, however, the Naturfreundehaus Elmstein-Harzofen is our destination, and then on to Weidenthal.
