The Bensheimerhof was mentioned in a document as early as 782. In the meantime he belonged successively to the Lorsch Monastery, the Eberbach Monastery in the Rheingau, the Landgraves of Hesse and Count Görtz zu Schlitz. There is nothing left of the original buildings, the oldest preserved part is probably the half-timbered house next to the gate entrance.
