There are 2 ways to the Teufelsstättkopf: over the Kühalm a wide forest road, then continue on a steeper path, partly sloping on both sides (head for heights) or from Pürschlinghaus a normal hiking trail. In any case after the ascent there take a break with great views of the Ammergau Alps!

In winter (climbed at the beginning of January, the valley was still free of snow), it can be climbed via "Auf dem Stein".
Snowy, somewhat narrow paths at higher altitudes: sticks are compulsory. Shortly before the summit it gets very smooth and icy, so shoe spikes or similar are essential. bring.
Ascent & descent from / to Pürschling partly icy. The tour is very difficult here.
In summer, the Teufelstättkopf should be one of the simpler peaks.

I was at the summit with my 5 year old daughter. Sturdy shoes are as much a must as a rope. The way is easy, but there are passages that are not for the faint of heart.
A child should be very sensible to implement the instruction. Otherwise prefer not with the little ones.

At the top, a great all-round view of Hörnle, Jubiläumsgrat, Zugspitze, Ammergau Alps - Klammspitzen, Notkarspitze, etc. - promising ascent around the back, where you have to keep your eyes open every now and then.
Shortly before the summit small scramble.Comfortable descent via the August-Schuster-Haus.Unfortunately more crowded at the weekend, perfect during the week.
