Very nice facility, great photo opportunity. The paths around it are easy to drive.

The former Schillingskapellen monastery was built almost entirely from the rubble of Roman canals in the 12th century. The arches of the former cloister (facade of the main house) are modeled on the arches of the aqueduct bridge over the Swistbach. The tuff stones used come from the external cladding of the bridge.
Since the secularization in the 19th century, the monastery complex has been redesigned into an agricultural estate with mill and fish ponds in a park-like setting.
Today Gut Capellen is privately owned.
