Anyone who has ever been in the beautiful "Nenzinger Himmel" in the Gamperdonatal, the immediately striking a massive mountain in the east: The Panüeler.

The second highest peak of the Rätikon is rather inconspicuous from the east, but from the west impresses immediately its imposing rock face, which drops almost a thousand meters into the Gamperdonatal.

Almost as impressive is the huge summit cross, which is just under 8 meters one of the largest in Vorarlberg.

Via Spusagang and Straussensteig the ascent is absolutely spectacular and the view on the whole track almost unrivaled.

In my opinion, the Panüeler is wrong in the shadow of his big sister "Schesaplana", because at least the rise of the Gamperdonatal from much more interesting.

At 2,859 m, the Panülerkopf is the second-highest mountain in the Rätikon range. It can be climbed relatively easily (T3) from the Mannheimer Hut. Since the easiest route to the Mannheimer Hut leads over the ice of the Brandner Glacier, I recommend snow spikes and poles for this route. The ascent from the Zalimtal via the Leibersteig or Straußsteig is significantly more challenging (T4).
From the summit of the Panülerkopf, you can see the neighboring Schesaplana (2,964 m), the Zimba, Lake Constance, and, on a clear day, even the Bernina Range and Ortler.
