The Möhnesee is already a very interesting reservoir. You can sail on it and get information about the history of the dam

The nature reserve Hevearm and Hevesee with a size of 302.8 ha includes Hevearm and Hevesee the Möhnetalsperre in the municipality of Möhnesee in the district of Soest. It was designated in 1975 by the district government Arnsberg as a nature reserve (NSG). 2004 took place with the scenery plan Möhnesee by the circle Soest a new designation as NSG. The NSG is cut by the federal highway 229, which runs on a dam. A NSG area is part of the 97-hectare FFH area Kleine Schmalenau and Hevesee, as well as the 1,188-hectare bird sanctuary Möhnesee. The nature reserve Arnsberger Wald is directly adjacent to the east. The NSG is located in the Arnsberg forest.

The small tributary of the Möhnesees, here it is not so crowded and there are countless beautiful paths through the Arnsberg forest.
I think here you can hike much better than directly on Möhnesee.

The Hevesee is under nature conservation, therefore it is here in contrast to the Möhne rather quiet and idyllic.

Great view with bank nearby to relax, however, is on the nearby main road on holidays very noisy by the completely meaningless motorcycle noise ...

The tour around Möhnesee and Have is approx. 13 km. The paths are good, you can eat and drink something on the way. I can only recommend it. 😊👍

Very nice for a leisurely bike ride, but not particularly exciting as a hiking trail.

Although part of the Möhne, the Heve is actually. Here, too, the inflow below the road is regulated. Still, it's nice.
