Bad Mergentheim is a town on the Tauber in the Franconian north-east of Baden-Württemberg, about 35 km southwest of Würzburg and 56 km north-east of Heilbronn. Before the state of Baden-Württemberg was formed, it was the northernmost city in Württemberg. Today (as of December 31, 2016) it is the largest city in the Main-Tauber district and a medium-sized center of the Heilbronn-Franconia region.
