This is one of over 300 knight's stones of the Palatinate Forest Association. He points out an object that no longer exists today. And it happened like this: "At the time the Ritterstein was erected, there were still a few juniper trees in a nature reserve at this point. Today the juniper trees have disappeared. Juniper once grew in large quantities in the Palatinate. Today the occurrence is greatly reduced, but protected by law. […]"

This PWV knight stone No. 53 'PROTECTED' is a small nature reserve. Some juniper trees used to decorate this area. The area is fenced and therefore not accessible. The juniper trees are protected today and there are very few of them left in the Palatinate. The Knight's Stone is maintained and kept in order by the Palatinate Forest Association
