The new construction of the shaft lock in Minden is a technical masterpiece and well worth seeing. The lock has been in operation since 2017. Before that, everything went through the old lock.

The Minden shaft lock is an imposing structure. Even from a distance it looks like an old castle complex. It was built from 1911 to 1914 and connects the Mittelland Canal with the Weser.
