From the hill on the other bank of the Saar you have a good view of the Taben quarry. Although it is located in the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park, the quarry is still allowed to operate.

Quartzite has been mined in the quarry since 1877 and is then used in Europe for road construction, as railway ballast or for other construction work.
