    This area was the French zone of occupation after the Second World War. Our neighbors from the other side of the Rhine thus also reserved the right to hunting sovereignty.
    On July 1, 1954, the right to hunt was returned to the local hunters. The wooden monument was erected on this occasion.
    The monument first suggests a shrine for a saint. If you open the little doors of the box, you can see a finely carved wooden picture with the scene of the so-called Hubertushirsch, in front of which a hunter kneels. A white cross can be seen between the antlers. The legend of Hubertus has been told since the Middle Ages, after which he was converted while hunting by a magnificent stag with a crucifix between the antlers. That is why Hubertus is seen as the patron saint of hunting. He is also the patron of nature and the environment, the shooters and the rifle brotherhoods.
