Directly at the summit of Cap Fréhel, next to the two lighthouses, is the former site of a semaphore. This coastal observation station was used for monitoring the sea area and relaying signals for shipping and coastal protection.

Cap Fréhel is one of the most stunning places on the Côte d'Emeraude. The 70 m high cliffs and islets are the natural habitat of many species of breeding birds. Heathland with heather and gorse, emerald green water and red, gray or black sandstone rocks provide a colorful backdrop to the bird sanctuary. In clear weather you can even see the Channel Islands in the distance.

Cap Fréhel is located on the Emerald Coast. It rises 70 meters above the sea.
Next to the old lighthouse a brand new one was built. Going towards the end of the cape you will find the ancient horn of Mist.
The rock on the side is a seabird sanctuary. In the distance, Fort-la-Latte can be seen.
