Ascona has developed from a once inconspicuous fishing village into a small town with 5,000 inhabitants. The old car-free town center with the Piazza Guiseppe Motta and the alleys and courtyards behind it has largely been preserved. The Ascona waterfront promenade is widely considered to be the most beautiful promenade on Lake Maggiore.

Ascona is a small architectural jewel with a great personality. A city where you can easily reach all important sights on foot. The streets of the historic village are incredibly picturesque, full of shops and boutiques, bars and restaurants.
