Best Hikes to Pragser Wildsee/Lago di Braies
Tips
  • Strolling along the shores of Lake Braies is truly wonderful! The high peaks and the coniferous forest perfectly frame the water basin, so much so as to give the idea of living in a dream.

  • The Pragser Wildsee is part of the Unesco World Natural Heritage Dolomites. The popular circular route around this magical mountain lake is a nature experience for young and old, because the entire hiking trail is safely developed and well marked. Starting from the historic Hotel Pragser Wildsee, you start the circular hike on the left bank of the lake. In parts, the route runs directly along the lake shore and in sections a little higher on the wooded slopes. Around the lake there are also inviting seating areas for picnics and sunny lawns for swimming in the lake. The Wildsee tour is about 4 kilometers long and takes about 1.5 hours at a leisurely pace.

The most beautiful view of the Pragser Wildsee is from the 2810 m high Seekofel. The hike begins around the middle of the lake and is advertised as taking around 4 hours to the summit.
This hike is definitely a must, with guaranteed many impressive photos..🚶‍♂️💯

  • A trip is especially worthwhile early in the morning and in the evening. The lake is not quite so run by tourists and you can feel the magic of the reflections in the water again very differently.

  • The Pragser Wildsee is one of the world's most beautiful and cleanest lakes. As the mighty Dolomites rise up around you, there is often a fog over the lake, which reflects the mountains in the water - an absolutely magical sight!

  • Especially worth in the morning and evening hours, when the lake is not so crowded. Otherwise a breathtaking scenery. Especially in sunshine, when the magical reflections really work.

  • In principle, the tour is easy to walk ... but that only applies in warmer conditions. On frosty days (especially autumn and spring), the waterfalls and rivulets can freeze over and become a mirror-smooth and dangerous obstacle for a longer period of time.

  • The trip is worthwhile, but early in the morning or late in the evening, otherwise in the summer there is hell going on.

  • The Pragser Wildsee is mostly overcrowded during the day. But in the morning and in the late afternoon you have the southern side almost to yourself. A dream!
From the parking lot at the hotel after a short hike on easy way to reach. Absolutely recommended place for a picnic.

  • Wonderful winter landscapes at the Pragser Wildsee. Hardly any people and gigantic views of the mountains, deep snow and the lake itself can be committed everywhere. You should definitely do it.
