About Marika Abbà

I am a great mountain enthusiast. I grew up at the foot of Monviso and the Argentera massif. I am madly in love with the music and culture of the Occitan valleys in the Western Alps of Piedmont (Italy). I am a Mountain- and Tour Leader and Freelance Editor for Komoot. For me climbing and hiking are the best way to discover and live in contact with nature, that's why I do alpinism 🧗‍♀️

Everywhere in the world I look for mountains! 🏔️

    1. Depart from Nerito, take the path to Tottea and continue in the direction of the Rio Fucino dam. A final uphill stretch takes you through the large clearings of Il Coppo, where you have a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains.

Now the path becomes extremely panoramic and in the distance you can

    1. Today's stage is mainly downhill and crosses high mountain areas.

Start again from the Duca degli Abruzzi refuge, follow the path that runs under the peak of Picco Confalonieri and go in the direction of the Campo Pericoli basin, where the Garibaldi refuge is located. Here you can take a break to admire

    1. Even if it is difficult to leave Santo Stefano di Sessanio behind you, you have to continue the journey: today's stage will surprise you!

Fasten your boots well and head towards the Santo Stefano lake, from where the path that passes under the top of Monte Tre Colli (1,570) starts and reaches the Observatory

    1. Leave Ofena behind you and head towards Castelvecchio Calvisio. Today's stage takes you into the important Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, established in 1991, whose symbol is the Apennine chamois.

The path climbs with a regular slope, never too steep. At the end of the climb, Castelvecchio
