Eight sculptors created a city relief and another 14 statues and sculptures for the Billerbeck Theater Mile. Most of these works of art show depictions and motifs from fairy tales, children's plays and dramas that the Billerbeck open-air theater has performed since 1950. The mile leads from the city center to the open-air theater.

The Theater Mile - it refers to the regular events in the open-air theater. We see numerous sculptures and statues along the way. They all deal with stage plays, like "Hans-Guck-in-die-Luft" by Mechthild Amann. We see the sculpture "The Wish King" by Andreas Perrey and also the "Frog King" by Jörg Nachtigall, to name just a few of the works on display.

Right by the train station we discover a golden pug with wings on a stele. It is the so-called Lilienthal pug by Michael Stamm and refers to "The Enchanted Swan". Just a few steps further on, we are reminded of the Nibelungenlied. Max Frisch's novel "Biedermann and the Arsonists" has also been given an artistic transformation on the Theater Mile.
