The stations of the Stations of the Cross on Prosper-Haniel are unique in their nature and presentation. Since the Way of the Cross was set up on a heap of land, we see in each station a conveyor tower model, symbolic of mining in our area. In the upper part of the winding tower, which is always the same, is a corresponding graphic to each station. These graphics were etched on copper plates and were written by Tisa von der Schulenburg, called Sister Paula, from the Ursuline Convent in Dorsten. At each station of the Stations of the Cross an element from the working world of mining is shown in addition. On each of these elements is a copper plaque with a statement from the field of the Church, the world of work and special personalities, these are Pope John Paul II, Cardinal Hengsbach, Bishop Dr. med. Luthe, Nikolaus Gross, Dietrich Bonhoeffer and others.

If you want to reach the tip of the heap with a beginner, you should try it here. The individual stations bring you closer to the Christian faith and teach you how the heap was created, including breaks. This is how the path actually becomes the destination. When you reach the cross, many are surprised and ready to make their way to the piles.

The Way of the Cross is a mixture of historic mining articles and religious symbols, very impressive, but also very steep by bike, a mountain bike is recommended
