Mountain Biking Highlight
The heap is one of the highest in the Ruhr area and rises 150 meters above the surrounding area. The wildly developed descents and single trails have it in itself and there have been injured already - so be careful on the first descent! Unfortunately, there are no official routes, although a nonprofit association has been trying for years to get it. That is why caution should always be exercised so that there are no unpleasant encounters with pedestrians or other cyclists, especially on weekends when the weather is fine. The view from the top is fantastic, as the heap is surrounded by flat land.
The Haldespitze is from the Stations of the Cross well but sometimes steep, at the access ramp a little more pleasant from the slope of all to get to pretty loose gravel.
On weekends and holidays, especially in nice weather, it is quite busy on the heap, so be careful when leaving.
The heap itself is a popular destination in the north of Oberhausen, which in addition to walking, cycling and kite flying also has a crossroads and much artistic to offer. The mainly greened, about 100 m above the adjacent colliery projecting heap but also offers a wonderful view of the mine Prosper -Haniel and the northwestern Ruhr area.
