On a peninsula in Höglwörther See is the 1125 founded by the Salzburg Archbishop Konrad I former Augustinerchorherrenstift. The church surprises with an elegant stucco decoration (around 1765) by Benedikt Zöpf and a ceiling painting by Franz Nikolaus Streicher. The showpiece is the altarpiece, the Transfiguration of Christ, by Master Francesco Vanni from Sienna (about 1600). Also impressive is the enclosed courtyard of the monastery, which is paved with fist-sized pebbles.
