At 2564 m, Monte Petz is the highest point in the Sciliar massif. The symbol of the South Tyrolean Dolomites consists of an extensive plateau and several peaks, from which the Santner and the Euringer peaks stand out. From the summit of the Sciliar you have a great view of the rose garden and the Sassolungo group.
The starting point of the hike is compatibility. We cross the Alpe di Siusi on path no.10 until we reach the Tschapit Weg. This branches slightly downhill, to the left. We hike up to the Saltnerhütte. We follow path no. 5 uphill. After about 1 km, this turns into the steeper path No. 1. Serpentines take us to the Schlern massif high plateau. Once we have reached this, it goes on Via Alpina (Gelber Weg) to the Schlernhaus. Behind it we turn right and take path 4 to Monte Pez.
