    Hiking

A word of warning: the pathway through this peatland can be difficult to hike through at the best of times. When it’s been raining, it can make hiking treacherous due to deep and slippery gullies. It's easy to lose your way. Make sure that you have good navigation skills and never go alone unless you are experienced.

    Hiking

This is a great section that broadly follows the waterway. Due to the shifting sands of the peat groughs (peat bog ravines) and water, you’ll have to improvise a little. Allow plenty of time as pace can be slowed dramatically, especially in winter. Waterproof boots are a must at all times of year. Beyone Kinder Gates, navigation gets tricky. As others have said, offline maps and good navigation skills are essential.
