The railway line is recommended. Forest soil and laid paving stones alternate, so it is more suitable for comfortable cycling. On information boards there is a lot to read the railway line. For breaks, covered benches are available.

Is a really nice route with many shelters to pause at the wayside. Have you been driving very often between Bad Oldesloe and Henstedt-Ulzburg. When the apples are ripe, you should take more time, as you can admire and enjoy many different kinds of apple trees along the wayside (with information on the variety that you have in front of you).
