Unterriexingen Castle can only be seen from the Enz Valley Cycle Path when the trees are not covered with foliage. It is privately owned and cannot be viewed.

Today's Unterriexingen Castle probably dates back to a "Staufen" castle complex of the Lords of Riexingen, which was first mentioned in the late 12th century. The castle, built on the northern edge of a high terrace to the right of the Enz and surrounded by a moat on three sides, probably also served to secure the transport of wood on the Enz and the parallel country road.
