The Statzerhaus is enthroned on the highest grass mountain in Europe, the Hundstein. The views of the surrounding countryside are simply breathtaking. The trip here is worthwhile for several reasons:
First the fascinating panorama, really indescribably beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, then the rustic Berghaus itself and the super nice people there!

The Hundstein offers in beautiful weather an impressive panorama: in the east of the Dachstein, seen from the south, the snow-capped peaks of the Hohe Tauern such as the Kitzsteinhorn, the Great Wiesbachhorn, the Grossglockner close enough, in the west of the Wilde Kaiser, the Leogang mountains and the shimmering blue Zeller See in the valley, in the north the Steinerne Meer and the majestic Hochkönig.
