Bike Touring Highlight
The landmark of Gedesby in the holiday home region Marielyst is this restored old Dutch windmill. Until 1947, grain was still ground to flour with wind power. The mill can be visited and there are regular special events, such as Christmas markets and barbecues instead.

In 1901 there was a post mill here. It was torn down and Gedesby Mølle was built in 1911 as a gallery Dutch mill with sails guiding blades and a manually controlled harvester. In contrast to many other Dutch mills, Gedesby Mølle was clad with roofing felt from the start and never with the much used wood shavings. Production began in December 1911. The mill has had several owners, all of whom had an unfortunate economic fate. In 1995 Møllelauget (the mill guild) bought the whole property. The mill guild was founded in 1987 with 57 members. Today there are 380 members. The guild has a great responsibility for the continued cultural presence of the mill and its significance as a landmark for the South Falster. The guild has ensured that the mill has been restored and is now able to produce flour.sonneundstrand.de/urlaub-daenemark/gebaeude/gedesby-moelle.htm
