Parts of the predecessor church from the 12th century were in the new building of St. Stephen's Church, which dates back to 1350-1475. The south tower was not completed until today. In a fire in 1617, the North Tower was damaged and collapsed. It was only rebuilt in 1714, and received its Baroque appearance.
