The medieval Glurns as the smallest town in South Tyrol still has the completely preserved town walls. A walk in the venerable walls, through the squat arcades and winding alleys is definitely worthwhile. You can climb the city wall in several places. There are also nice restaurants with South Tyrolean specialties (Schlutzkrapfen are super delicious!), espresso and homemade ice cream. ;)

Glurns is one of the smallest towns in the Alps with less than 1000 inhabitants. What is special about this city is the completely preserved city wall, which encloses the picturesque old town. The city arose at a traffic junction of the Via Claudia and was first mentioned in 1163.
