The Gatekeeper's House at the Upper Castle was built between 1748 and 1782. Outside the Gatekeeper's House, there is a gatekeeper sculpture as a symbolic protector of the city.

The distinctive half-timbered building was once the dwelling of the gatekeeper. At that time, when Ingelfingen still protected himself with a city wall from enemies from outside.
In 2006 it was bought by the company Gemü and renovated until 2009. For the first time in its history, the building, which is over 250 years old, now houses a museum in which the company's history and the bond between GEMÜ and Ingelfingen are presented.
