The core of the half-timbered town hall probably dates back to the 16th century. In 1577 a large room in the town hall is mentioned. The three-story building with a dance hall on the first floor and office rooms on the second floor is typical of city town halls at the time. The building's current appearance dates back to renovations in the 18th and 19th centuries.
