Frohngau. Frohngau belonged to the parish of Tondorf until 1802. But then Frohngau and Buir founded their own parish, which was confirmed in 1804 by the then Boischof of Aachen, Marcus Antonius Berdolet. The patron saint of the church in Frohngau is St. Margareta, patron saint of St. Barbara. There has been a St. Matthias Brotherhood since 1955, which annually serves as the tomb of St. Apostle Matthias makes a pilgrimage to Trier. There are also regular pilgrimages to the "Michelsberg" (Archangel Michael) above Mahlberg, to the Ahekapelle to Engelgau (St. Servatius) and to the hail cross between Buir and Tondorf. In 2010 the support association of the parish church of St. Margareta Frohngau was founded. The purpose of the association is to preserve the church's own objects and to maintain church traditions and customs. Members of the sponsoring association have also agreed to take on voluntary services. They are active as word worshipers, lecturers (holy mass, devotions, prayers for the dead), communion helpers and in various sex services. The members are also involved in the children's pastoral circle. Palm sticks are made with preschool and elementary school children, herbs are collected for the festival of herbal consecration, and holidays are organized.
