The extension of the former Sourbrodt train station between the two signal boxes that are still preserved today suggests its importance on the Vennbahn. In 1893, three kilometers away from the Prussian military administration (until 1920 Sourbrodt belonged to Prussia as part of the Malmedy district), the "Camp Elsenborn" military training area was built, which ensured considerable military traffic on the Vennbahn and a narrow-gauge connecting railway from Sourbrodt to the camp.

Today, in addition to the station building and the two signal boxes, a whole range of other railway relics such as signals, a turntable and a number of rusting vehicles can be found. In addition, in the area of the former train station, there is the upper end of the rail section, which can be used in summer with draisines (Kaltherberg – Sourbrodt), with the corresponding infrastructure.
