Jungbrunnen Fountain, Bad Harzburg

Bad Harburg, located on the northern edge of the Harz Mountains, is a recognized brine spa and serves as a health resort. In addition to its reputation as a health resort, Bad Harzburg has a direct connection to German unity: Immediately after German unity, on November 12, 1989, over 300,000 visitors came from the GDR, as it was right on the German-German border.

The place offers attractive hiking routes in the Harz Mountains, such as a lynx tour, a brine thermal bath for relaxation and, recently, a treetop path.

Not far from the R1 cycle path, this town offers a variety of opportunities for relaxation and recreation. Very popular is e.g. the brine thermal bath with water from the Bad Harzburg springs.

The old town of Bad Harzburg has some beautiful houses to offer. A walk through the town is worthwhile before climbing towards Torfhaus.
