Feistritz an der Drau is part of the market town of Paternion and lies approximately on the half of the 4 leg of the Alpe-Adria bike path. Thus, the place is predestined for a small breather. The bike path leads through a pristine floodplain landscape and offers a lot of variety to the eye. If you watch the surroundings carefully, you can discover some sights - eg. For example, the churches of St. George or Maria am Bichl in Feistritz / Drau or one of the traditional Einschichthöfen in the surrounding area.

More than 2000 years ago, the Romans built a settlement in Feistritz an der Drau, of which today, unfortunately, nothing is left. Only occasionally one finds stone walls in fields near the Drava. The ruin of the Fliehburg between Paternion and Feistritz still bears witness to the time.
Coming from the Drauradweg you can take a break at Gasthof Zentral to enjoy a bag of ice cream. If you would like to eat something stronger you could also go to the Gasthaus Dorfstube next door.
