There have always been ferries on the Drau in the region. You can imagine how everything imaginable was transported on them; from commuters who had to go to work on the opposite bank to building materials and even entire wagons.

In memory of this time, the market towns of Paternion and Weißenstein reactivated the Lansach - Feffernitz Drau ferry. Depending on the weather, the ferry is often in operation during the summer months until September.
