Jetting out nearly 820 feet (250 m) into the water, the wide pier at Helensburgh makes for a great (if not a little exposed) walk or ride with magnificent views.

In summer, there are excursions on the paddle steamer Waverley to resorts on the River Clyde.

Unfortunately the passenger ferry to Greenock no longer runs.
