On the shaded path, alongside the Rio Pralugano and near the wooden bridge that crosses it, is the Fonte di San Gemolo. According to legend, it is handed down that water still flows from the spring which, due to the blood shed by the martyr saint, makes the stones of the place red. It seems that Carlo Borromeo himself, during a pastoral visit, collected these red porphyries for devotional reasons.
