The church was built in the 15th century as a rectangular stone building. The heavy, plastered west tower, not connected to the ship, was only added in 1769/70. The altarpiece dates from 1710. On the south wall of the church there is also a splendid grave monument for Karl Wilhelm v. Kleist († 1766) and his wife Eva Eleonore Louise († 1813), which was probably executed around 1770/80. Other grave monuments can be seen on the outside of the church: next to the south portal are memorial stones for E. Maximiliane Greiffenhagen († 1820) as well as for her brother-in-law, the preacher Christian Friedrich Zehe († 1820) and his wife Sophie Dorothea († 1812) a total of four historical tombstones (2nd half of the 17th century) and other tombstones of the Kleist family.
