The moated castle built in 1575-1596 has been privately owned since 2001 and houses a hotel, a brewery and a coffee roastery. During the summer months, all sorts of medieval traditional festivals take place almost every day.

Not far from the castle is the old church with old graves (unfortunately also of some small children! ). The two ancient oak trees on the site are outstanding!

One of the two oaks is listed as a natural monument and was estimated to be 670 (!) years old in 2017!!!

The word "Mellenthin" comes from Slavic and means "center". Right there, in the center of the island of Usedom, is the Mellenthin moated castle. As you walk through the park with its old trees, you can imagine that the old walls could tell a lot.
