Several plaques and remains of the border fortifications remind us of the time when Germany was divided. The area was completely overgrown in the years after the border was opened and was prepared as a monument from 2016 by members of the Abbenrode local history association as well as teachers and students from the Fallstein High School in Osterwieck.

The Wülperode border memorial is a memorial that commemorates the period of German division. It is located in the area of Wülperode in the Harz district, in the immediate vicinity of Wiedelah in the Goslar district. It includes an originally preserved section of the border fortifications of the GDR.

The area had grown over the years; it was prepared as a memorial by members of the Abbenrode home association and by teachers and students from the Fallstein grammar school in nearby Osterwieck. Information boards were drawn up and set up. The site is now a listed building.
