The inner-German border has changed the landscape - even in the small Fallstein. In 1975, a border tower was built southwest of the village of Rhoden and the ridge was cut down. Today nature has brought back the ridge. Only the border tower still stands in the same place and reminds of the division of Germany and life in the then "border village" Rhoden. You can find out more about it on the information boards.
The tower is located on the “Green Belt”, which is an almost 1400 km long strip of land along the former inner-German border and invites you to hike or cycle on quiet border paths and former convoy paths.
