This floodplain was only declared a nature reserve a few years ago and is therefore still in full development. The name of the Dordtsche Avelingen is sometimes a bit confusing, because the area is not that close to Dordrecht. It is located on the border of Hardinxveld-Giessendam and Gorinchem.
