The cows here are owned by farmers in the area. Young cattle and dry cattle that temporarily no longer produce milk do not need the best grass and are suitable for use in nature reserves. Grazing keeps the vegetation short in a natural way and creates a greater diversity of plant species.

Cows do not exactly tend to stay exactly in the same place, but this highlight was probably created because there are farms with cows here (by the way, there were horses in the meadow when we passed) and a traffic sign that warns of crossing cows? I have placed it anyway because there are various grazing areas in the Nietelbroeken and cows are indeed used for that. Grazer enthusiasts can also be sure that they will see horses somewhere during the walk.
