The landmark "Time Traveler" pays tribute to a geological phenomenon in Kerniel - limestone sediment. This "Time Traveler" is located between the fruit paths of Borgloon on the banks of the Odilliabeek. The water of the stream literally runs through the sculpture. "Because there is a lot of limestone in the water, there is a nice layer of limestone on the statue," says Beckers. “In a few years it will look fantastic.” Will Beckers was commissioned by VLM and the city of Borgloon to create an image that would emphasize the high presence of limestone in the area. He integrated the image into the landscape and literally let the water of the stream flow through "Time Traveller". Over time, nature will leave its mark on the sculpture and cover it with a thick layer of limestone. The artwork will develop and change over the years. The sculpture has the shape of a metal bowl and rises from the ground. The water flows through an opening in the center into a new artificial basin.
