Please check local regulations for: Hirschauer Berg
The Hirschauer Berg nature reserve has existed since 1980. It has been a wine-growing region since the Middle Ages. Vineyard walls and terraces still characterize the landscape today and give it significant cultural and historical value. Over time, this landscape has been left more and more to its own devices. For several years, the dilapidated dry stone walls have been partially rebuilt. The purpose of protection is the preservation of the diverse flora such as semi-arid grassland, shrubbery stages and in the upper slope area a light pine forest similar to steppe heath, as well as the extremely species-rich fauna closely associated with the plant communities.
