Mountaineering Highlight
A real insider tip. This, compared to other Oberstdorfer peaks, little committed mountain offers several highlights. Over the wild light table, past waterfalls, it goes to the rustic mountain village Gerstruben and from there on to the summit. The descent takes place on the northern side of the mountain into the Oytal. Tip: if you do not want to walk the path out of the Oytal, borrow a mountain scooter and dive along the tarred road back to Oberstdorf.
Refreshments: Gerstruben, Oytalhaus

The climb is demanding but you will be rewarded for the effort. Was a great tour in reverse. Dizziness and surefootedness are a prerequisite. Put on sturdy shoes! Partly rocky or muddy sections.

Not much space at the summit ... but the views are top notch !!
The small path that goes to the left of the path is often overlooked by many unfamiliar and there is no more signage or guidance, so just before it goes down again - keep your eyes open, otherwise you will miss the best,

Over the Hölltobel it goes up to Gerstruben and from there up to the Hahnenkopf (or Hahnenköpfle) on the way it's worth a detour to the Riefenkopf summit. Great view and less frequented than the TOP peaks around Oberstdorf.
