    Mountain biking

    The Iron Hand signpost that can be seen here is a replica of the ancient original signpost that had been in place for centuries. The mere fact that the signpost was made of metal shows the importance of this marking, but also of the trade routes through the middle of the Hainich. The original signpost from the Middle Ages can now be viewed in the castle in Mülverstedt.
    Each of the five fingers points in a different direction and used to be a valuable guide for hikers and merchants.
