The tower, which opened on June 17, 2011, stands on Heidelberg (448.1 m above sea level) and is 20.15 meters high.
It was built as a wooden structure and has an open staircase accessible via the artificially raised Generalsblick hill, as well as a 16-metre-high covered viewing platform.
