Bike Touring Highlight
Really nice facility with visitor toilets - not unimportant if you are away for a long time. There is a café and a tea house (which we did not visit, however) and an Annette von Droste-Hülshoff Museum.

Burg Hülshoff is a typical moister castle. The castle was the headquarters of the barons Droste to Hülshoff from 1417 to 2012 and is the birthplace and parental home of the poet Annette von Droste-Hülshoff. Castle Hülshoff is also known for its large and well-kept park. In addition to a large number of rhododendron bushes that bloom in May, flowering hydrangeas, especially in summer, attract many visitors directly behind the main entrance.

During my visit, a literary event was held there from Fri-Sun, so the area was closed to other visitors. Means, you should call before a visit, if the area is open to visitors !!

The park is freely accessible and costs no entrance fee. It's definitely worth it.
