The castle garden was first laid out around 1565 at the new residence of the Margrave as a pleasure garden, which is still present in remnants as a current castle garden with lawns, beautiful old trees and one of the oldest chestnut avenues in Germany.

Kastanienallee was once the central axis of the park. The northern part was built on and the rest of the part was neglected for a long time and partly also built on - with the tax office. An old tree population has developed on the remaining area. A few years ago, people started to implement a well-thought-out overall concept that I really like.
