Here there is much to look at suitable weather. Less the view (there are almost no more due to the tall trees) than the climbing activities all around and the steep stairs up to the tip of the shingle are recommended.

The Signalstein (582 m) is known as a striking lookout rock and offers a viewing platform on the rock. A steep staircase leads to the rock colossus so that there is no view (as of 05/2021), something should be cut out here. In the Middle Ages, the castles Leienfels, Bärnfels, Obertrubach, Egloffstein and Thuisbrunn communicated and warned each other by means of beacons that were lit here. This type of warning system was used until the 19th century, including with flashing signals. The vegetation was probably a bit sparse there.

Lt. Wikipedia:
The Signalstein, also called Signalfels, is a 12 m high rock in the Franconian Alb in the municipality of Obertrubach in the Bavarian district of Forchheim.
The Signalstein is located in the south of the Franconian Switzerland in the natural park Franconian Switzerland-Veldensteiner Forst. He stands on the Hirschbühl, a rocky plateau east of the Obertrubacher district Sorg. On or on the rock is a trigonometric point at 564.3 m altitude.
History:
In the Frankish kingdom, at the former eastern border, the rock served as a signal point. The transmission took place with fire and smoke signals. Later, the rock had the same function for the Egloffstein castles Egloffstein, Leienfels and Bärnfels. Every year in Sorg the Signalsteinfest takes place.
Hiking, climbing and viewpoint:
The signal stone can be reached as a hiking destination from the towns of Geschwand (Rotring) or Wolfsberg (Rotpunkt). It can be reached in a few minutes via the car park north of Sorg. Its summit is climbed via a staircase. You can climb on the rock. There are six climbing routes with difficulty levels 3 to 8 (UIAA). New tours are not allowed. Near the signal stone is the wailing wall another climbing destination in the climbing area Northern Frankenjura.
The summit of the rock serves as a lookout point. The surrounding castles are no longer visible from there, since the forest has become too dense; however, on the summit there is a horizontally arranged plaque on which the directions of surrounding places are engraved.
The signal stone is designated as a natural monument (ND-04550) [3]
